So a few nights ago I found my massive and unfinished <Kamil te Kar> playlist just sitting around in a truly remote corner of my portable hard-drive. I am not a person who likes to leave a fanmix undone, so I trimmed, cut and added a few tracks here and there and then popped it up on 8tracks! So here it is, for my KtK alumni, expats of WrAnet or anyone following me who wants to hear my gentle suggestions for music to set your Fantasy World mobster opus to.
BETWEEN THE BARS - A KAMIL TE KAR FST
Okay I Believe You But My Tommy Gun Don’t - Brand New
Oh, we’re so c-c-c-c-c-controversial.
We are entirely smooth.
We admit to the truth,
We are the best at what we do.
Oh, my tongue’s the only muscle on my body that works harder than my heart
Candy Shop - Andrew Bird’s Bowl of Fire
Well, piece by piece and nail by nail it’ll all come down some day before the fires of hell
Rock that candy shop set it on fire
Run away watch it burn
Smell the ashes in the air
Of this silly game we’re sure to tire
Il Giardino Delle Delizie - Ennio Morricone (Instrumental)
Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk - Rufus Wainwright
you got to keep in the game
maintaining mystique while facing forward
i suggest a reading of ‘a lesson in tightropes’
or ‘surfing your high hopes’ or ‘adios kansas’
War Photographer - Jason Forrest (Instrumental)
A Little Drop of Poison - Tom Waits
I like my town with a little drop of poison
Nobody knows they’re lining up to go insane
I’m all alone, I smoke my friends down to the filter
But I feel much cleaner after it rains
Fibre de Verre - French, Traditional (Instrumental)Slow Burn - Kevin McLeod (Instrumental)
It’s Probably Me - Sting (feat. Eric Clapton)
If there’s one guy, just one guy
Who’d lay down his life for you and die
It’s hard to say it
I hate to say it, but it’s probably me
I hate to say it
I hate to say it, but it’s probably me
Butcher Blues - Kasabian
I’m a lonesome man
I wanna get stoned and trip some wires
I wanna get myself underground
I said that, you must believe me
When I say I’m fightin the dead
Original Sin - Pandora’s Box
All I wanted was a piece of the night
I never got an equal share
when the stars are out of sight and the moon is down low
All I needed was a spot in the light
It never had to get so dark
Nobody’s Side - Elaine Paige
Never take a stranger’s advice
Never let a friend fool you twice
Nobody’s on Nobody’s Side
Never be the first to believe
Never be the last to decieve
And never leave a moment too soon
Nightmare - Artie Shaw (Instrumental)
Sons and Daughters of Hungry Ghosts
I got a hand so I got a fist
So I got a plan
It’s the best I can do
Now we’ll say it’s in God’s hands
But God doesn’t always have the best goddamn plansDespair (Memoro de la S^tono) - Nobuo Uematsu (Instrumental)
Des Armes - Noir Désir
Some weapons blue like the earth
Some you have to keep warm deep in the soul
Some you keep deep in yourself like you keep a mystery
Between the Bars - Madeleine Peyroux
Drink up baby, stay up all night
With the things you could do
You won’t but you might
The potential you’ll be that you’ll never see
The promises you’ll only make
The Comedians - Elvis Costello
And I’m up while the dawn is breaking
Even though my heart is aching
I should be drinking a toast to absent friends
Instead of these comedians
You can’t refuse it, it’s like a home from home
Streets of Fire - Bruce Springsteen
When the night’s quiet and you don’t care anymore,
And your eyes are tired and there’s someone at your door
And you realize you wanna let go
I live now, only with strangers
I talk to only strangers
I walk with angels that have no place
I Always Kill the Things I Love - Claudia Bracken and the Real Tuesday Weld
Some folk would die for the sake of another
Lay down their life for their sisters and brothers
For me sacrifice is something quite other
‘cause I always kill the things I love
Skinny Fists - Christians and Lions
Like the breath between my praying hands could make my fingers glow
Like the psalms between my palms are all I’ll ever need to know
I count out hymns for hims and hims and hers and hims and hers for hearses
I told her once, “There’s a great line in this song I heard
But I can’t tell you unless something really big happens to us.”
Shining Light - Annie Lennox
You’ve always been a thorn in the side
But to me, you’re a shining light
Smoke - Ben Folds Five
Leaf by leaf page by page throw this book away
All the sadness all the rage, throw this book away
Where do all the secrets live
They travel in the air
You can smell them when they burn, they travel
Those who say the past is not dead can stop and smell the smoke
(We will not write a new one)
Adios Nonino - Astor Piazzolla (Instrumental)
